It's hard to put a definitive answer on this question because of the psychological controversy and lack of understanding of the subject in the scientific world. However; it has been theorized that most body regeneration occurs during the REM (rapid eye movement) cycle, which is the last stage of sleep. REM is the cycle in which we dream, and when the brain is thrown into a state of use. In many elderly cases, people often feel drowsy throughout different portions of the day. This is thought to happen because as we get older, some people are less likely to enter a state of REM while asleep. There are a few psychological disorders that can happen which affect the bodies ability to regenerate during sleep. So, I would say that it's definitely better to dream when you sleep. If you don't dream while sleeping, you may just not remember what you experience during REM (very common). However; if the problem is persistant, you may want to consult a specialist. ~Hope this helps! |
