When you lay down to sleep, the body is in a state of partial paralysis. This keeps you from sleep walking. And sometimes that natural function fails to operate. I don't think anybody knows why.

Perhaps somebody in psychiatric medicine could suggest a drug - but I've never heard of a supplement or herb used to prevent sleep walking - but there might be some in Chinese medicine.
