Please help! My 9 mnt baby has begun waking up every 1 1/2 hr at night.?

She cries loudly and screams if I don't nurse her back to sleep. The first 5 months she slept very well and now shes been waking up too often and barely sleeps during the day also.She isn't hungry for sure but wakes up as a habit. She doesn't suck on the bottle so I have to nurse her to calm her to sleep. Don't know what to do and my husband and me are EXHAUSTED! Any suggestions?
