Dreams. When I am a sleep I can not move

or see light. I don't know if I am dreaming? Dreams. When I fall asleep I go into a deep sleep I guess. I often scare myself awake. I feel that I can not move. I can open my eyes or even try to scream. I find myself fighting to move body, speak, open my eyes. When I do wake, it is a rapid awaking, I often jump out of bed or the couch. I often wake up screaming for help. Yes I have often. I had this dream or this experience three times in one week. I got to the point where I was actually sleeping with my lights on in the bed room. I do not see anything it is pitch black. Some times there is voices. I can not make out what they say. Some times nothing just pitch black. Images but really nothing. It scares me for the fact that my body and can not function... I am fighting myself to wake up. I feel like as if someone or something is holding me down covering my mouth. Well the eye thing I don't know how to explain that. To wake my self up... I try to focus on some type of light..to tell my self it is a dream.
