Default Why would someone suddenly develop insomnia?

Lately, I just can't seem to sleep at night. I don't have any new stress in my life. I used to be in bed asleep by 9:30-10:00, now I'm not even tired at 11:00. I try to sleep anyway, but I can't. One night I stayed awake all night long. It was horrible trying to work the next day. Does anyone have any good suggestions on how I could get a good night's sleep?

Try pleasuring yourself. Then sleep the night away. Good luck

* don't sleep in past 7am*don't use a computer or watch tv after 9pm (its amazing how these pastimes can make u feel less tired than you actually are)* reset your body clock. Stay up most of the night, then be wide awake all the next day without caffeine, you should then be fairly tired by evening so that going to bed at 10pm would be no problem.* avoid caffeine, especially after 6pm* avoid sugary/high energy foods after dinner* don't exercise at night, only in the morning* avoid thinking about deep stuff before you sleep; instead, read a textbook, dictionary or something you find boring, until you nod off. Always works for me.* take sleeping pills, as a last resort. don't make a habit of it.hope that helps :)

Exercise more often. I had chronic insomnia when I was an inactive youth. Now I go to bed well if I exert myself enough. Try to run around a bit, do anything you can to get tired. Just don't sit still it'll only make it worse, the brain is trying to exhaust itself but your body does a better job.

try jogging or some cardio exercise about 3 hours before you plan to go to bed. my bet is that if you burn some energy, you dream the night away! exercise will also help eliminate any stresses that you may be experiencing (even if you don't think you're having any!)also, consider at night that you 'rest'... i am 4 months pregnant and often can't sleep. i found that so long as i lie there with my eyes SHUT (not necessarily sleeping), i do feel ok (not great, just ok) the next day, even if i toss and turn. that means no TV, no reading, lights off, etc. if you are a caffeine drinker, try letting it go... but be ready for about a week long headache. (TRUST ME ON THIS!!! i've been a tea drinker forEVER and now i only drink decaffeinated drinks. this alone has helped me the most!) also, look at the meds you may be taking. several cold medicines make me stay awake. lastly, try to eat protein rich dinners several hours before you go to bed. carbs/sugars may keep you awake. also, don't take naps and don't sleep late. plan getting out of bed 8 to 9 hours after you lie down. eventually, your body will take advantage of the down time. best of luck!
