Default Insomnia???

I usually go to bed around ten or eleven on weekdays, which is generally when I have this problem. I'll sit in bed for hours, sometimes, waiting to fall asleep. Even if I'm dead tired, my mind will be racing on and on, from topic to topic and I just can't seem to turn my thoughts off so I can sleep.
It's like my body is tired but my mind is wide awake, almost as if I'm hopped up on caffeine or something.
It doesn't help that I have undiagnosed RLS (restless leg syndrome) that makes the muscles of my legs feel itchy and ticklish.
There's no way my parents will let me get sleeping pills. They firmly believe that if there's something wrong, then it's something that I can help myself.

Any advice?

You're going to think I'm crazy, but I take 2 Advil liqui-gels in order to get to sleep. It isn't like taking a sleeping pill (AKA - "drug") and for some reason puts me to sleep w/o the morning grogginess that you experience w/ marketed sleeping pills. I also have a problem w/ my mind working in over-drive. I wish that it would just shut off now and then, esp. when trying to fall asleep.
