Default insomnia?! any solutions?

okay, so heres the deal.;
i cant sleeep until sometimes like 3 in the morning. if i dont get to sleep, i dont wake up, if i dont wake up, i dont get to school on time. on the weekends, i'll stay up and the more i stay up cuz i cant get to sleep, the later i sleep in. the latest ive slept in till was 3 in the afternoon. im embarrassed to say that but maybe it'll help.
o dont know if i should just lay there and try to sleep, or do something and move around to try to make myself tired.

can anyone help me with this? any solutions? because im tired of not being tired and making up work from skol cuz i dont get there on time.
*help?!*
also, warm milk doesnt work, and reading gets my eyes tired, but not my body or mind.
and, ive heard that if u arent in good shape, that makes a difference. i'm 14, not skinny, but not fat. im just kinda chubby-ish and not very active. maybe that will help.

low carb foods.
no coffee, caffeinated sodas or Monster type drinks.
You have to get into a regular sleep/wake cycle.
Dont eat after 7 p.m.
No TV on when going to sleep.
Buy one of those nature sounds CDs and put it on low when you go to bed.
Make sure your room is dark.
When you go to sleep start thinking about places you have been that you love and the experiences you had there.
Dont get up, stay in bed.
You should be in bed by 10

Hope this helps.

some causes for not sleeping
if you drink a lot of caffeine it can make you stay awake
stress

help for it
exercise more
avoid taking naps
try reducing stress
don't watch TV before you go to bed
hope this helps
