sleeping problems. help?

so i usually have a HORRIBLE time falling asleep. like i usually stay up till 6 or 7 and wake up around 1. but i wake up every hour or so. and last night i fell asleep at 12 and woke up ever.single.hour. until i had a nightmare and woke up for the last time around 6:30 and couldn't fall back asleep. what is going on? and is there anything i can do to get a normal night's sleep?!

i got diagnosed with major depression if that has anything to do with something.
