Default Possibly insomnia? Help!?

I suddenly find it weird that it takes me 30-45 minutes to fall asleep each night. I've been this way for as long as I can remember, but I've noticed lately that my sister and one of my friends can fall asleep in very quickly.

I know for a fact that my friend can fall asleep in ten miutes or less. I know this because last night my friend told me to call her in ten minutes and she was fully awake (albeit in bed), and when I called I ended up waking her from her sleep.

My sister also falls asleep quite quickly, as when we go camping I usually fall asleep in the same room as her and she's asleep pretty soon after she crawls into bed.

So is it normal for me to take this long to fall asleep?

If you've been this way for as long as you can remember it's probably not insomnia. Sometimes people just start to notice something about themselves out of nowhere and it will preoccupy them and they'll start to think it's weird. I've certainly done that. If you want to get to sleep more quickly I'd recommend reading. I know the doctors will tell people with insomnia not to do this. Part of treating insomnia is training your brain that the bed is only for sleep, so you shouldn't do anything but sleep or try to sleep in bed. But if you have a relatively normal sleep pattern and desire to fall asleep faster, reading works wonders for me. I take around 30 minutes to fall asleep on a normal night. I've also suffered from insomnia and I can verify that the two were unconnected for me.
