I am under a lot of stress and have been for what seems like forever. However, the last 5 months have been very difficult. I have trouble falling asleep, then if I do fall asleep I tend to wake up in the middle of the night and then I'm awake for the rest of the new day.My doctor has given me some medication to take, but I hate taking it because when I do I am severly groggy the next day and while I do function, it isn't my best. I have kids and a business to deal with.I have tried reading before falling asleep...simple soduko (spelling) and I have tried just lying there in the dark and trying to clear my head but before I know an hour passes, then two, and by the third I might as well get up and do something.Any suggestions or methods that might help me?

I am dealing with insomnia right now, here things I find helpful:1-Always go to bed at the same time and wake up at the same time. (even if you hardly slept that night)2-Drink some tea (without caffeine) or some warm milk before bed.3- Get some exercice in the morning or early afternoon4-Don't go to bed hungry or too full5- Turn your clock around so you don't dwell on the time.6-Write a list of things you need to do the next day so you don't have to worry about forget.7-Take a warm bath, ask someone for a massage.8- Try Advil PM supposably it is none habit forming but I live in Canada, so it is not for sale here.Hope some of this helps! Have a good night tonight!

I had the exact same problem. I started taking an OTC med called melatonin. You can get it anywhere, i.e, wal mart, any drug store or herb shop. Your body naturally makes melatonin when the sun goes down & it is time for you to fall asleep. For some people the amount the body makes is simple not enough. The pills usually come in 2 or 3mg tablets. Take 1 or 2 about 2 hrs. before you want to fall asleep. It donen't work like a sleeping pill, it just relaxes you to the point you can fall asleep. The pills are cheap & it is worth giving it a try.Good luck!

Yeah the meds work but they makeyou feel terrible th enext day. Here is an all natural method you may find useful:http://snipurl.com/insomniaguideI haven't tried it myself but have heard very good reports. If what you are doing isn't working you need to look at something other than meds and sudoku (no wonder you cant sleep lol)Give it a shot...
