Default I don't know why I'm so afraid of insomnia?

For some reason I'm deathly afraid of not being able to sleep the whole night, it's like I think I'll die or something if I don't get any sleep in a night...how can I control this fear?? Also, I can't help waking up someone else, cuz it makes me feel better when someone else is awake too. I know this is a bad habit, but I'm afraid to deal with this alone?

I used to be really afraid of that I wouldn't be able to go to sleep, too. Just close your eyes and do your best to think of something else. Put on some soft music. Josh Groban and things like Brahm's Lullaby should do it.

Firstly you have to discover for yourself what it is that is giving you this fear. If you have trouble sleeping try doing more exercise through the day and don't eat after 6pm. It sounds like you are suffering from some insecurities. Can you think what they might be? It seems you fear being alone. Have you been let down by people in the past? You have to let go of things that have happened to you and concentrate on who you are and where you are going. Doing puzzles like sudoku are quite helpful for relaxing at bedtime, allowing the brain to wind down into sleep mode.Hope this helps you, good luck.
