control when sleeping. anyone else have this problem? I just adopted her from the original owner who was too sick to care for her, and said she had no health issues. I spoke w/ my vet and he said it can happen when dogs are spayed young, and as they get older they can lose bladder control in their sleep due to a hormone difficiency and can be controlled by medication given twice a week. I just got her 10 days ago and my children love her. I want to keep this dog but I have a house full of carpets that I do not want ruined. He said that after starting the meds it should stop within a few days. She is a very nice, sociable dog and interacts well with everyone. She does pee when we take her for walks and she is not frequently squatting and straining so the vet said it is not an infection. Has anyone else had this problem with their dog and did the medication called Stillbestiol Help with this?

I woke up once to a soaking wet bed from my 2 year old MASTIFF, who sleeps with me.She had a urinary tract infection, was put on meds and is now fine. She likes to romp and play in mud, puddles, ponds, and anything wet, and in female dogs, can easily cause an infections. They can also(females) become incontinent when stressed, scared, happy and if there is a change in routine. And I have heard of the medicine your dog is on and it makes total sense. She has had a lot happening in her life. Give it a little more time, patience and love. Good Luck!

Sometimes when a dog has a seisurethey will loose control of their bladder. I have a dog that takesmeds for seisures. Maybe that is what is going on with your dog. Good luck and go to your vet for a blood test he will know iff she is epeleptic or not.
