Default Narcolepsy??

My husband has been experiencing some signs that could be narcolepsy but I am not sure. It's been over the past few months but slowly getting worse. He will fall asleep while standing or eating and worse even driving. If I catch him sleeping standing up and wake him he says oh I thought I was taking out the trash or doing something else. He can also semi-function in his sleep like state but not very well and when I tell him what he did he has no recollection of what happened. However it isn't bad during the day but at night/evening is horrible. I don't know if this has anything to do with it but he has terrible night sweats. He will soak through his clothes and the sheet. We have a doctors appointment for next week but I was looking for anyone who has any personal experience with it.

Thumbs up

most narcoleptics don't suffer from sleep-walking simply because we usually have sleep paralysis as a symptom too...and that is the polar opposite of sleep-walking, which is hard (not impossible, just difficult) since both activities hit the same part of the brain.

i would assume that if they are waking up somewhere else, it is more likely to be a case of automatic behavior being the cause than a true case of sleep walking.
