I was fired for my narcolepsy should I contact a lawyer? Hello, I have narcolepsy with hypersomnia and have had it for a year. Last Friday my boss along with an HR rep fired me. I had an FLMA form but I had only worked for the company for 11 months so it had not kicked in. Nothing wakes me up with this disease. Unless something physically harms me I do not wake up for days. Usually I wake up because my cat hates my alarm clock so he will bite me until I get up and turn it off. One day he didn't wake me up when it went off. I was 45 mins late to work and lost my job a week later because of it. The reason this happens is because of my medical condition. I also fall asleep when I shouldn't. Because of this my company let me go. Do I have rights? Should this have happened when I have a documented medical alowance? I now have no income and no way to pay for a lawyer can I contact one? I am soo hurt. I was a wonderfull worker and had already recieved complements to my superiors about my preformance. I work hard and I am not lazy! I just have a condition that I can not control. What should I do? |
