Boyfriends mothers a nightmare?

ok i met my bfs mother about a year ago and she seemed nice. she didn't mind the 7 year age gap (him being older than me) or so she said or the fact i moved in a couple of months ago but she came around for a chat when my b/f was at work and i thought things were going great until she said she had problems with the age difference and me moving in. me and my b/f were going to buy new house furniture (his idea) and she asked my b/f behind my back if she could come and help pick some because shes had more ''experience'' then she had a problem cos she thought we were using all his money for the furniture when i put half to it. how am i supposed to get on with this woman its clear she hates me she even said she likes his ex more. btw hes in his 30's im in my 20's
