Default How to deal with a health insurance company who refuses to cover me. This is a...

...nightmare!? I sustained a injury to my knee while at wrestling practice. I saw our team physician the following day and he concluded a positive Lachmans (ACL tear) & positive Valgus stress test ( MCL) & decided that conservative treatment would be best. I found this odd that he wouldn't refer me to treatment- but he insisted that if I had a torn ACL there would be more swelling. I followed his treatment and rehab plan administered by the athletic trainers that work w/us. My knee was not improving but my coaches were pressuring me to compete. W/2 days of practice my coaches made me compete in World Team Trials- b/c the doctor said I was fine. I ended up doing bad at the tourney & had my scholarship taken away. After summer break i began practicing again and noticed my knee was not better. I went to a doctor in the area and he concluded my ACL was torn. My insurance company is denying me coverage b/c they say it is past 90 days after the injury. I have written a formal appeal & have been denied.
