Default how can i help my b/f with his sleep apnea?

my boyfriend has sleep apnea and sometimes I hear him gasping for air, it scares me so bad. so here is my question, is there anything I can do when I’m sleeping with him to help him? like turn him a certain way or is it best to wake him up or something? anything? THANKS
he has already been to the doctor, he is actually doing his second sleep test tonight. and no he is not over weight. im just wondering if there is anything i can do.
